Pesi Komar is an outstanding graduate of the undergraduate studies in art and education at Emuna College, Jerusalem, and a graduate of the Advanced Studies Program at the Midrasha - Faculty of Arts, Beit Berl. Since 2014, she has been a member of the artist group ‘Studio of Her Own’ in Jerusalem.
Komar's works focus on video art and sculpture, and they relate to architecture, structures and scale variations of space. Komar's body of work examines geometric formality in a minimalist way, and explores the relationship between the different dimensions. In her works, Komar creates structures that resemble home furniture or exterior structures, which are disassembled and reassembled by the material itself and/or by the media that is involved in the artwork.
Komar has participated to date in a variety of festivals and group exhibitions, including: The Museum of the Biblical Lands, Jerusalem; Jewish Art Biennale, Jerusalem; The refrigerator - a space for culture and art, Tel Aviv; Hayarkon 19 - Midrasha Gallery, Tel Aviv; Studio of Her Own gallery, Jerusalem; One Take Film Festival for one shot films, Croatia. Komar is a graduate of the ‘Mamuta’ residency program at Beit Hansen, Jerusalem, and a winner of an artist-teacher scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Sports (2017-2018) and National Culture Basket (2021).
